Planned maintenance for docks and doors...

When times are tough, like now, it's crucial to buckle down and contain costs. This includes eliminating or putting off planned maintenance on equipment not recognized as directly related to the finished product or service. When a year or two goes by and nothing breaks, accounting departments can point to the decision and claim victory. However, facilities personel and maintenance planners know better.

What no one sees is the slow degradation of key parts; contaminated oil eating at O-Rings, unlubricated pins being ground down, cables fraying, etc...

When the economy bounces back, bring your PMs back into the calendar, you won't be sorry.
